Album review: Robin Laing, Whisky For Breakfast
Despite the title, Laing assures us not a drop was consumed in the making of this CD, which is his fourth devoted to the venerable liquor and its lore.
Like a lot of the whiskies mentioned, the songs tend to be richly produced, if melodically middle of the road, but rich in conceptual imagination.

Hide AdFrom Bruichladdich on Islay to Old Poultney in Wick by way of Arran, Skye and Speyside, Laing has performed in scores of distilleries, and spills out absorbing anecdotes throughout.
If you can't be one of the dozen in his sold-out World's Smallest Whisky Bar (in Switzerland) this makes fine accompaniment to a good malt or three.
