But now David Tennant has taken time out from acting – to judge a Father’s Day card competition run by Edinburgh charity Circle.

Nine-year-old Shelby Ritchie’s card – based on the outline of her hand – emerged triumphant, but all three judges had a tough time choosing from the high-quality entries.
Runners-up Logan Smith, 12, and Dani Pavlov, nine, also shone with their colourful designs featuring a large number one and a smart-looking dad respectively.
In a special video showing the actors championing their winners, Georgina Campbell – who is set to have a “significant role” in the upcoming eight-part ITV series – labelled Logan’s design “brilliant”.
Pilton-based family support service Circle works to improve the lives of children in some of central Scotland’s most deprived areas.
Tennant, who has been a patron of the charity since 2005, previously called the work it does “invaluable”.
