Financial services companies may claim they are donating money to charities for altruistic reasons, but their charitable partners are considerably more sceptical about their motives, a study yesterday claimed.According to research by charity insurer Ecclesiastical, 65 per cent of charities and voluntary organisations believe the primary motivation for financial services businesses to partner with charities is to improve their corporate image.Only 1.4 per cent of charities believed businesses were motivated by a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
