John Clark sees sales accelerating

Car dealer John Clark Motor Group said it is gearing up for a record breaking year after a 15 per cent increase in sales for 2012.

The group’s turnover increased to £354 million last year, from £308m in 2011, according to its latest accounts.

Operating profit before interest rose by 12 per cent in 2012 to £5.7m, while group pre-tax profit reached £4.4m, compared with £3.8m the year before.

The group also reported record vehicle sales for last month More than 3,000 units were sold during the course of September, a 36 per cent increase over the same period last year.

It is the 27th month in a row that the company has seen a growth in vehicle sales across the group, and it said 2013 “is likely to continue the record-breaking trend”.
