Rates scheme saves energy firms £4m
The Scottish Government’s business rates relief scheme for renewable energy generators has saved the industry around £4 million this year, according to figures released yesterday.
The scheme offers discounts on business rates and is stepped so that smaller renewables projects receive the highest level of discounts.
Currently around 85 renewable energy business premises across the country benefit from the relief.
