Scots bullish on stock market rise

Almost four in ten Scottish investors believe the UK stock market will rise this year, and a fifth expect it to outperform other world stock markets over the next decade, research shows.

The Franklin Templeton Global Investor sentiment survey revealed that Scots are less likely than other investors in the UK to hold a positive outlook for the UK market and are more inclined to invest in overseas markets.

Nine in ten Scots think the best opportunities will be found globally in the next decade, though only a third intend to invest outside the UK.

The research also found that 24 per cent of Scots believe property will be the best performing asset class over the next ten years, with UK equities in second.
