Isle of Arran Distillers toasts whisky cash
Isle of Arran Distillers, which was set up in 1995, has landed the finance package from Clydesdale Bank.
The cash is being used to build a warehouse on the island, which will allow the company to increase production, satisfying the thirst for Scotch from drinkers as far afield as Scandinavia, Taiwan and North America.

Hide AdIn April, the company revealed that its turnover had broken through the £3m barrier during 2011 for the first time, boosted by a 25 per cent rise in exports, while pre-tax profits had more than doubled to £250,000.
Euan Mitchell, managing director of Isle of Arran Distillers, said: “The whisky sector is doing well at the moment globally and, while we are not yet a major player, we do have a loyal customer base and our product can be seen as occupying a niche corner of the market due to its exclusivity.”
