Advert for IT worker branded 'racist'

A COMPANY that advertised for recruits "preferably of Indian origin" broke the law, the Equality and Human Rights Commission has ruled.

Torry Harris, an IT firm near Bristol, was looking for someone with a minimum of six years' experience in IT. Its job advert said: "The person should be a UK citizen with security clearance from the UK government. Preferably of Indian origin."
