Plane passengers will today pay more for their flights because of a sharp rise in airport departure tax.
Among those hardest hit will be UK tourists flying to the Caribbean, who will see the air passenger duty doubling. There are even higher increases - of 55 per cent - for those on the longest-haul routes to such destinations as Australia.
