Alfie the cat's a ferry stowaway
SCOTTISH SPCA officers are trying to trace the owners of a stowaway cat, nicknamed Alfie, who hitched a ride on the CalMac ferry at Barra, in the Outer Hebrides.
He was finally spotted, unperturbed, padding down the gangway at Castlebay.
SSPCA officer Amanda MacDonald said: "The cat is pure white, he's very unusual, and someone saw him getting off the ferry from Oban. We are just hoping someone will come forward to claim him.
"A kind-hearted lady contacted me because she had seen the cat. He had just been roaming around Barra since he got off the ferry about a week ago."
