Amnesty award first for productions

Theatre productions Speechless at The Traverse and No Child at Assembly are the first to be shortlisted for the Amnesty Internationl Freedom of Expression Award.

Award judges said: "Speechless shows how racism can alienate people psychologically and eventually drive them to a destructive reaction, while No Child demonstrates how fragile the right to education can be when educators are disrespected and under-funded."
