Artists draw on sketch talent to win awards

THE winners of an art competition organised by the Edinburgh Sketching Club for the first time will be presented with their prizes in the city next week.

Winner Charlotte Metcalf and runner-up Isaac Nugent will be presented with cheques for 400 and 100 respectively at the preview of the Edinburgh Sketching Club's annual exhibition.

It will take place at St Andrew's and St George's West Church in Shandwick Place next Monday at 7pm.

The Edinburgh Sketching Club hopes to make the competition for undergraduate art students in the city an annual event.

Around 30 students from Leith School of Art, Telford College and Edinburgh College of Art took part in the competition by submitting a painting.
