Call for new language law
A PETITION is to be submitted to the Scottish Parliament today urging lawmakers to look into whether modern languages training should be compulsory for trainee primary school teachers.
Jonathan Robertson, policy adviser for the East of Scotland European Consortium, has called on Holyrood to re- examine whether current regulations allow programmes with language modules to be accredited. The petition has attracted 130 signatures so far.
