Capital grabs coverage in magazines

SOME of the UK's leading celebrity magazines are to carry features promoting Edinburgh.

The Destination Edinburgh Marketing Alliance (DEMA) has taken out space within the pages of Now, Heat and Hello.

It is running competitions in the magazines, as well as features in the Gay Times and Company Online.

The promotions are part of DEMA's summer campaign, "This is my Edinburgh", which features some of Edinburgh's trendiest residents.

As well as the celebrity titles, DEMA has also placed advertorials in several travel companies' "in-journey" publications, including magazines produced for Virgin Trains, Flybe, BMI and Velocity.

Billboard advertising is also to be used as part of the campaign at a number of sites, including London's Gatwick and Stansted airports, London King's Cross Underground station and Newcastle rail station.
