Data deal for NHS patients

NHS Lothian has struck a deal to improve the data security of almost a million patients.

Health chiefs joined with Northgate Managed Services after the Scottish company helped them deal with a series of data protection issues.

The health board's director of e-health, Martin Egan, said: "Data management and its security is an issue that we take very seriously, and is an area that requires careful monitoring and constant review."
