Gail's home at risk from legal costs
GAIL Sheridan could lose her home if the News of the World takes action to recover hundreds of thousands of pounds in legal costs from husband Tommy, jailed yesterday for three years for perjury.
The paper is expected to win its appeal against the former MSP's 2006 defamation victory and ask the court to order him to pay the lawyers' fees.
Mr Sheridan signed over the couple's 200,000 Glasgow house to his wife shortly before the 2006 trial in a bid to avoid being made homeless. But if he is declared bankrupt within five years of the transfer, the property could still be seized.

Hide AdMr Sheridan's solicitor announced after yesterday's sentence that he would appeal against the perjury conviction.
He could in any case be released in around nine months with an electronic tag. Mrs Sheridan said: "It won't be long before Tommy is back, stronger and continuing the fight."
