ACADEMIC Maurice Glasman celebrated his 49th birthday yesterday by taking his seat in the House of Lords as a Labour peer.
Lord Glasman, a reader in political theory at London Metropolitan University, is the latest to take his seat from the batch of 54 new members of the upper House announced by Downing Street last November.
