Hollywood star's art set to hit the city

AN exhibition of the artwork of actor Sir Anthony Hopkins opens in the Capital tomorrow.

Paintings by the star – best known for playing Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs – will go on show at The Dome in George Street until Saturday after a stint in London last month.

Sir Anthony, who paints at his home in Malibu, often depicts bold faces with haunting eyes and more delicate landscapes.

Four prints, four acrylics and 31 ink drawings will be exhibited.

The show is organised by Jonathan Poole, who said the work is exhibited on its own merit.

He said: "I wouldn't be exhibiting if I didn't like the work.

"I know he's a well-known name, but I love his work."
