Iran willing to talk about nuclear plans

Iran yesterday offered to negotiate with six world powers about its disputed nuclear programme.

The move comes after a 16-month hiatus in talks and follows an invitation from chief EU envoy Catherine Ashton last month.

America is keen to use the talks to show unity with Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany to ensure Iran does not develop nuclear weapons.
