It will be the backdrop for a new film being made by the director of Channel 4 hit Misfits, Tom Green.

The Mancunian band, which was flying high on the back of top ten hit Fools Gold and a highly regarded debut album, had played a major show at Blackpool Tower's Empress Ballroom a few months earlier, then went one better with their own mini-festival at Spike Island.
The new film follows a group of young council estate hopefuls in unsigned band Shadowcaster who head to the show to see their idols. Filming will begin later this year.
