Lothian gardeners given chance to bloom

GREEN-FINGERED gardening enthusiasts in West Lothian are being invited to enter the council's gardens competition.

As well as the usual categories - best flower, best vegetable garden, best floral containers, gardening for wildlife and West Lothian Gardener of the Year title - two new categories are being introduced this year.

They are the Tallest Sunflower Challenge and the Best New Entrant.

The competition is divided into nine different areas of West Lothian from Linlithgow to Armadale and West Calder.

Entry is open to every household in the region.
