A REPORT into the death of Mikaeel Kular is expected to criticise council education and social work staff.

The probe was launched after the three-year-old’s mum Rosdeep Adekoya, 34, admitted killing him at their Drylaw home last January.

Sources say the report – led by child protection expert Moira McKinnon and due out in weeks – will rule that the city and Fife councils did not work closely enough with the family when they moved to the capital.

Adekoya subjected Mikaeel to fatal injuries when she repeatedly beat him after he was sick following a trip to a restaurant.
