MP bullish on Green Bank

EDINBURGH West Liberal Democrat MP Mike Crockart has said he is "confident" the UK Government's proposed Green Investment Bank will be located in Edinburgh.

He acknowledged there would be competition from other cities but claimed the Capital was "winning the argument so far".

He spoke out after UK Energy Secretary Chris Huhne said the city had a "substantial advantage" because of the expertise its financial institutions had in lending to renewable energy firms.

Mr Crockart said: "This city's credentials speak for themselves and I am glad to hear that the Energy Secretary agrees with me."
