New head for Dalkeith High School

A NEW headteacher has been appointed for Dalkeith High School.

Colin Gerrie will take up the post on August 18, in time for the start of the new school year.

Mr Gerrie has more than 18 years experience in the education field, having started work as a teacher in 1993.

He is moving to Dalkeith High from his current post as depute headteacher of Ross High School in East Lothian.

Councillor Peter Boyes, cabinet member for education in Midlothian, said: "I warmly congratulate Colin Gerrie on his appointment as the new headteacher of Dalkeith High School. Mr Gerrie is a highly experienced educator and I am sure he will build on the excellent educational record of the school."

Cllr Boyes added: "I would also like to thank the previous headteacher Mrs Elizabeth Wozniak for her many years of valuable service to the school and to the council."
