The number of police and fire service control rooms operating in Scotland will be cut after controversial closure plans were given the green light.

Police contact centres in Aberdeen, Dumfries, Stirling, Glenrothes and Glasgow’s Pitt Street are to be shut, reducing the number operating in Scotland to five.
