Criminal delays

If the intended aim of the dropping of corroboration in criminal cases is to ensure that more cases are taken to court (editorial, 27 February), how that does that square with the Scottish Government’s plan of closing busy Sheriff and JP Courts such as Haddington? The SNP seems unaware of the saying, “Justice delayed is justice denied”, which is bound to happen if courts are closed.

It seems to me that these plans, as with its plans for independence, have clearly not been thought through.
