Letter: Health economics

Congratulations on your report (29 October) highlighting the profligacy within the NHS in Scotland.

Many years ago we had the Agenda For Change, which lead to many NHS employees receiving a 10 per cent pay rise and 20 per cent extra annual leave for no expectation of increased productivity. The following year NHS productivity was reported to have gone down. If these extra managers added value, then the SNP would not be able to plan for 25 per cent reduction.
