Letter: Oil city scandal

With regard to Aberdeen businessman Stewart Milne's offer to accommodate Peacock Visual Arts in his Triple Kirks development if the councillors vote in favour of Sir Ian Wood's highly controversial plans to cover over Union Terrace Gardens, I should like to find out what constitutes a bribe in the eyes of our judiciary system.

Should the vote go in favour of Sir Ian's plans I should imagine that this sad little escapade will stick in the craw of even the most apathetic Aberdonian. Decades of living in this oil-rich city have taught me one thing – people with power and influence can get done anything they so desire and so far there has been little opposition from our council to stop them.

Perhaps the citizens will eventually wake up to what is being done in this city in the name of progress.
