Letter: Royal present

Michael Kelly may have had his tongue in cheek in suggesting that Scotland's councils have nothing better to do over the next three months than exercising over what gift to give Kate and William (Perspective, 13 January), but many of us, not excluding royalists, might think they have already had a more than adequate gift from all of us by their presumably free or at least subsidised sojourn for several years at our oldest university.
