Sober thought
I thoroughly agree with Donald Jack’s suggestion (Letters, 15 August) that “the soundest of wisdom emanates from their Lordships’ house where matters are reasoned without the shouting and name-calling so often prevalent in the House of Commons”.
I would have agreed even more had the word “reasoned” been preceded by “soberly”.
