Unfair taxes
Your article (30 July) highlighted the main points contained in the Independent Budget Review including the view that "the freezing of the council tax is unsustainable in the long term".
So part of the answer is a reversion to year-on-year, decade-after-decade of compounded percentage increases in a tax which does not take account of ability to pay from income, unlike income tax. Now that is unsustainable.
