Police hunt after woman's bag snatched

A THIEF who snatched a woman's handbag is being sought by police.

The 26-year-old victim had been walking on the footpath adjacent to Alderstone Road and towards Jackson Place in Livingston when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her bag and ran off.

The handbag, which is dark brown corduroy, contained the victim's pink purse and other items.

The suspect is described as being 5ft 7in tall, skinny, wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up, a dark cap on underneath and baggy low-cut jeans.

The incident happened at about 6:30pm on Friday.

A police spokesman said: "While the victim wasn't injured, she was still shaken as a result of what happened, and we are appealing for anyone in the area at the time who may have noticed the suspect there to contact police immediately.
