Police review security footage around sex scene attack

DETECTIVES are reviewing CCTV footage from the area around a Lothian hospital where a teenager was sexually assaulted.

The attack took place on Wednesday afternoon as the 18-year-old woman walked along a footpath beside Howden Road West, which leads from an underpass close to St John's Hospital in Livingston.

Officers now believe that the incident took place sometime between 4:20pm and 4:35pm.

Inquiries continued with police combing the area for evidence.

House-to-house inquiries are also under way.

The attacker is described as being 20 to 25-years-old, 5ft 5in to 5ft 7in tall, with short light brown or sandy blond hair and pale skin. He was wearing a black waist-length jacket.
