Shop protest in city centre

PROTESTERS will today attempt to prevent customers from entering several high-street stores that they claim are "tax dodging".

The groups, who have rallied under the banner Uncut Edinburgh and are also protesting at public sector cuts and VAT increases, say they may target Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and Vodafone over unsubstantiated claims of tax-dodging.

Protesters will meet in Princes Street to follow up their action on December 12, which caused Vodafone and Topshop to shut briefly.
