Staff raise £29k with gruelling run and ride

STAFF at Deloitte's Edinburgh office have helped to raise more than £29,000 for charity by completing a gruelling run and cycle.

The team, which consisted of 10 employees from the city office as well as staff at the firm's Glasgow office, recently took part in the Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge and covered 55 miles of the Rob Roy Way.

The challenge involved a gruelling 16 mile run from Drymen to the Trossachs and Callander, before cycling a further 39 miles to Kenmore.

Financial Services Partner in Scotland, David Claxton, who led the race, said: "The team showed a great deal of determination by completing the Rob Roy Challenge. Their efforts are to be commended as this is by no means an easy event.

"We are very grateful to those who have donated to this very worthwhile cause. Hopefully, next year we will be able to build on this success by raising more funds and encouraging more people from Deloitte to take up the challenge for the first time."

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Martin Currie Charitable Foundation, which raises funds for Sightsavers, The Prince's Trust, the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust, and children's charity the NSPCC.
