Traffic media ban slammed

CAMPAIGNERS have hit out at the city council for its organisation of a consultation workshop.

Residents are fighting plans to ban traffic from Shandwick Place to make way for the trams, a move they claim will lead to higher traffic levels and pollution in residential streets.

The council has set up a series of workshops to allow officials and members of the public to discuss the issue, but campaigners claimed council officials had tried to ban journalists from the meeting, a move they say wasted time which should have been spent discussing the issue.
