English parking firm to go on trial in Scotland for attempted fraud
Civil Enforcement allegedly sent parking charge notices to motorists using legislation which does not apply north of the Border.
The firm is claimed to have sent drivers letters demanding that they pay civil penalty charges at addresses across Aberdeenshire. The London-based trader allegedly stated that the notice was enforceable under schedule four of the Protection of Freedoms Act.

Hide AdProsecutors state that the firm acted on this basis despite knowing that the legislation does not apply to residents in Scotland.
Citizens Advice Service in Scotland saw a 50 per cent increase in cases regarding parking last year compared to 2014.
