Trawlermen net a tonne of rubbish

A FISHERMAN netted the 200th tonne of litter to be pulled from the North Sea under an international environmental scheme yesterday. The rubbish was taken in to Peterhead by langoustine trawler the Amity, skippered by Jimmy Buchan.

The Fishing for Litter Campaign encourages fishing vessels to bring rubbish they net while out at sea back to land.
