Two men in court over 'power drill assault'

TWO men have appeared in court in connection with an alleged assault with a power drill.

James Hanlon, 26, was allegedly driven off the road and assaulted in Stepps, Lanarkshire, on 22 August. He was treated in hospital before being allowed home.

Robert Kirkwood, 24, and Charles McCormack, 28, were charged with assault to severe injury at Airdrie Sheriff Court yesterday.

The men, from Glasgow, made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody.

Craig Devlin, 19, also from Glasgow, was previously arrested over the incident in Cumbernauld Road. He was charged with assault to severe injury when he appeared in court on 6 September.
