Samples to be sniffed at for whiff of C diff

A DEVICE that sniffs out stomach bugs by analysing the smell of patients' faeces could save the NHS millions.

The OdoReader – developed by Chris Probert from the University of Bristol and Norman Ratcliffe from the University of the West of England – can rapidly diagnose Clostridium difficile, by "reading" the odour of stool samples.
