Badminton: Blair seeks Olympic place
Edinburgh-born Robert Blair will aim to confirm he could make next year's Olympics team when he partners England's Gabby White in the badminton mixed doubles at the Yonex All England Open in Birmingham today.
Blair and White reached the semi-finals of the Malaysian Open last month and won the German Open Grand Prix on Sunday. They open in Birmingham against Thai pair Patipat Chalardchaleam and Savitree Amitapai.
Glasgow's Imogen Bankier and Chris Adcock are also chasing the London selection spot and their first match is against Japan's Ikeda Shintaro and Shiota Reiko. Susan Egelstaff is the only Scot in the singles and she faces a tough opening match against China's world No. 9, Xiu Lin.
