Bobby Kirk, Hearts legend

HEARTS legend Bobby Kirk has passed away at the age of 82, the Tynecastle club has announced.

The popular full-back, who was born in Arniston in 1927, joined Hearts from Raith Rovers in 1955 and spent seven years in Gorgie where he enjoyed two Scottish League championship wins in 1957-58 and 1959-60, a Scottish Cup victory in 1955-56 and two Scottish League Cup triumphs in 1958-59 and 1959-90.

Hearts will wear black armbands during tonight's match against St Mirren in the semi-final of the Co-operative Insurance Cup, as a mark of respect.
