Brown sees his way clear to second spot
The 31-year-old from Montrose carded a three-under-par 68 to win by two shots from Dunbar’s Neil Fenwick in an event reduced to one round due to bad weather. Brown carded five birdies, in claiming the £1,500 first prize.
Peter Latimer was leading amateur with a level-par 71, all the more impressive after a triple-bogey 7 at the first hole. The leading 24 players will now go to the end-of-season Tour Championship in Son Gual, Mallorca, where they will compete for a prize fund of £10,000. The ever-improving Fenwick, once on Dunfermline Athletic’s books, finished third on the money list, just ahead of Paul O’Hara.
