Celtic Women’s player loses father in pub tragedy
Celtic issued a statement sending their condolences to the families of all those who died in the accident, confirming that Mr Arthur, the father of 18-year-old Chloe Arthur, was among the dead.
It said: “The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Celtic, including all of Chloe´s team-mates and friends at the club, are with Chloe and her family at this desperately sad time.”

Hide AdChloe, who also plays for Scotland Women, wrote on Twitter: “RIP dad. you’ll always mean the world to me, I promise to do you proud, I love you with all my heart.”
She added: “Thanks to everyone who has tweeted me, text me etc, means so much, I have the most amazing friends ever.”
David Haley, manager of the Celtic Women’s side, said: “This is devastating for Chloe and her family. It is a tragedy that Chloe’s father was one of eight innocent victims in this terrible accident - he was regularly seen at Celtic matches, watching his daughter.
“Chloe and her family have the full support of everyone at Celtic and across the women’s game at this very sad time.”
The club confirmed that a minute’s silence would be held before their Scottish Cup clash with Hearts at Tynecastle today.
