Czech boo boys turn on Baros

CZECH fans have demanded the head of coach Michal Bilek and turned on striker Milan Baros ahead of Tuesday’s do-or-die trip to Lithuania.

Scotland’s Group I rivals are in disarray after a 2-0 defeat to Spain in Prague. The match was marred by angry Czech fans shouting songs about Bilek throughout the game and when off-form former Liverpool striker Baros was eventually put out of his agony and subbed, the home fans stood up and started cheering and clapping.

Bilek said: “A player of his calibre did not deserve treatment like that. It is very frustrating when you hear the fans shouting things at him.

“I don’t mind them shouting at me – I am used to it. But it is very annoying to hear this from our own fans.

“When the whole stadium is screaming at Milan to be taken off, it’s very bad. He is not a player who deserves a reaction like that.”
