Champions League prospect for Rangers veteran Steven Davis as midfielder opens up on next season and new contract talks
With the club on the cusp of clinching the Scottish Premiership title and a crack at Europe’s top table for the first time in a decade, the Northern Irish record-holder is comfortable in his current status and admits another Chmpions League night at Ibrox to add to the 14 he has played previous, is “a very nice” prospect.
"It would be massive for everyone at the club – it’s a stage you want to play on and if I could get another taste of that, at my age, it would be very nice,” said the 36-year-old.

Hide AdDavis last played in the competition’ qualifiers against Malmo in 2011 and group stage against Sevilla in December 2009 and despite his deal being up for renewal he is relaxed on his future with focus on security for the title and return to the competition before his own.
He added: “I don’t tend to look too far ahead and I feel good at the minute and it’s it’s clear to see I’m enjoying my football – how could you not with the season we’ve had so far?
"I can’t see myself finishing up at the end of the season. I think my approach has been the same as the club’s – trying to concentrate on football first and foremost and get into position first.
"I have a very open relationship with the gaffer and Ross [Wilson] at the club and we’re always talking over different scenarios so I’m not under any pressure about the situation moving forward.”
