UEFA have confirmed they are investigating the eligibility of Progrès Niederkorn player Emmanuel Francoise, who opened the scoring for the Luxemburgan side in last night's Europa League qualification match.

The attacking midfielder was reportedly sanctioned for taking a banned asthma treatment in May this year.

If UEFA decide to take action against Progres, it could possibly allow Rangers to return to European competition if the result is declared void.

The Glasgow club were humiliated by losing 2-0 on Tuesday night to the part-time team from the south-west of Luxembourg.
