Give Sevens helping hand
The HSBC World Sevens Series rolls into Scotstoun Stadium on 5-6 May, and volunteers are needed to help the event run smoothly – looking after the players, fans and everyone in between. There’s less than a week left to get involved with a deadline for applications of next Wednesday.

Hide AdSpeaking outside Kelvingrove Museum in the host city, Hastings said: “I’m lucky enough to get to see the HSBC Sevens World Series all around the world and there is a real buzz already about what to expect from Glasgow in May.
“Even if you don’t know what sevens rugby is all about, come and find out. Not only is this a Commonwealth Games Sport but, in four years time, it will also be an Olympic Sport [Rio de Janeiro in 2016].
“It’s a two-day party and, for the first time, Glasgow gets to savour what is a unique atmosphere.
“I want to see Glasgow rival anything that Las Vegas or Tokyo can offer. That’s my challenge to Glasgow.”
Robison added: “The Scottish Government is delighted to be backing the Emirates Airline Glasgow7s and I hope that the city of Glasgow really gets behind what will be an fantastic weekend of genuinely world-class sport.
“As we head towards Glasgow 2014 this offers a glimpse of the kind of spectacle we can expect to see for the Commonwealth Games and volunteers will play a vital role in the success of the games.”
