Golf: Patrick leads at Deer Park

Capital golfer David Patrick powered into the halfway lead in the Tartan Tour's indbuild-sponsored Deer Park Masters in Livingston.

The former European Challenge Tour winner, who now plays out of Elie in Fife, fired a seven-under par 65 to finish a stroke ahead of Robert Arnott and Lindsay Mann.

Birdies on the opening two holes got Patrick off to a flying start and the former Walker Cup player picked up shots at five, six and seven to turn in five-under.

Kingsfield pro Mark King claimed the team honours as he led the indbuild amateur trio of Arthur Campbell, Richard Nash and Neil McIntyre to victory with a 56.
