Hibs: Your Say

David Firth from Goldenacre said: "All during this campaign I have been told that our name was on the cup as we have been blessed with great home draws and against lower league opposition. But the players in green didn't put in the effort required against a very high-placed First Division team.

"I am nervous about our replay trip to Dingwall, as the way things are going with Hibs, and recalling our past history in the Highlands, it doesn't look too promising. On a very tight pitch and it will be a hostile crowd as well.

"We did start well on Saturday, we were a goal up after six minutes and coasting until a mistake by Hanlon allowed a Ross County player to burst through. He then hit a good shot which was well saved by Stack but our cup luck was evident, as the ball ricocheted of Murray and into the net.

"We got back into the game with a good strike from sixteen yards by Riordan and we all thought the flood gates would open, but it wasn't to be. The second half was an open encounter but it was the Highlanders who got the equaliser after a mistake by Wotherspoon and they forced the reply that we didn't want. Man of the match for Hibs was Chris Hogg, all credit to our captain as he thwarted wave after wave of attack from the Ross County guys and he excelled in an old fashioned stramash in the Hibs box where he blocked two certain goal-bound shots with Murray clearing off the line as well.

"The referee was whistle happy and, throughout the game, he blew when advantage would have been more appropriate."

Brian Gallacher, Linlithgowhibbie. Hibs.net: "I would have loved to report that this was a cracking match, unfortunately yet again the Hibs let us down big style. No shape, no apparent enthusiasm from the team, second to most balls, and outplayed by a side from a division below us.

"We had a good start with Nishy scoring an opportunist goal. From then on it was all downhill. Their first goal was okay and Deeks scored a brammer to put us ahead again.

"The referee proceeded to make sure his whistle was heard time and again. Their equaliser was well deserved and I feared that our name was not going to be on the cup this year again. We struggled to hold on for the draw and only some desperate defending near the end kept us in it.

"Pass marks were few and far between. Stack could maybe have come off his line a bit more but never made a save. Spoony needed a bit of protection by his non-existent midfield. Hoggy tried, Murray never gave up but he doesn't win us matches. Sorry, but no-one else worth a rating.

"I've now got a long trip to Dingwall to look forward to. Thanks Hibs, but at least we are still in it!"
